Sujimoto CEO Dr. Sijibomi Ogundele Breaks Silence After EFCC Declares Him Wanted, Blames Enugu Government

Dr. Sijibomi Ogundele, popularly known as Sujimoto, has vehemently denied allegations of theft and fugitive status following the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) declaration that he is wanted for alleged money laundering and diversion of funds. The prominent real estate businessman has vowed to visit the EFCC to clear his name.

The EFCC's declaration relates to a contract dispute with the Enugu State government, which Ogundele attributes to rising construction material costs that caused a fallout. In an emotional video, Ogundele recounted his involvement, stating, “This is a contract between my company and the Enugu State government. Enugu State government asked me to help them build a couple of projects which was very interesting.”

He further revealed that during the project, he was commuting weekly to Enugu and was tasked with designing what the governor described as the tallest building in Nigeria a 69-storey skyscraper.

Ogundele’s real estate firm, Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited, is widely known for its luxury developments in Lagos, particularly in Ikoyi and Banana Island. Despite past legal challenges, including detention in October 2024 over a fraud allegation, Ogundele insists on his innocence and is prepared to defend his reputation legally.

The EFCC continues to seek public assistance to locate Ogundele, whose last known address is in Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos.
